Labrador 50th anniversary celebrations

The past, the present and the future

Saturday saw the Labrador Tigerstix 50th anniversary celebrations get underway. Club members worked on the sausages sizzle throughout the day, offering free sausages to all Labrador players and supporters. Anniversary merchandise was on sale with many taking advantage of the Labrador Tigerstix $5 stubby coolers!

The sale of club shirts, number plate frames and caps also got off to a good start, with some already happily displaying their 50th anniversary purchases.

During the BHL2 half time break Labrador Juniors under 15 were invited to compete in a closest to the line competition. The winner would be the one who from the half way line could push, hit or slap the ball closest to the 23 metre line. And the winner was….Daniel Evans. Congratulations Daniel.

At half time of the BHL1 game, the Tigerstix Gift was run with some suggesting too much of a handicap was offered to some of our more senior ladies in the club, enabling Annie Mac to take out the win.

The celebrations continued after BHL with a games evening organised by our sub committee, with Bonita Tyler doing a great job as the games host!

A big thank you must go out to all committee and sub committee members plus all club members who assisted with making the day an enjoyable one. Please remember to purchase some of our special 50th anniversary merchandise either at the bar or online at our Labrador Shop.
