Last Saturday, BHL 1 was first to score 12 minutes in when Oscar Charlesworth propelled the ball from the right side, high into the net straight past the Norths keeper. Six minutes later the rapidly improving, Billy Bradford pounced on a penalty corner variation and shot a tomahawk into the net. In the 22nd minute the Irishman Kevin Mullins achieved the first of his two goals following a scramble in the Norths defensive circle with Labrador racing to a four-nil lead. Norths took advantage of a moment of weakness in our defence and scored two late consolation goals before Oscar Charlesworth again converted a great strike leaving the Norths defence floundering. Labrador finished with a 5-2 win, holding 5th on the ladder with only two points separating first and fifth place. Congratulations to Oscar Charlesworth for being voted Best on Ground, presented by David Reardon and Aaron Weiss receiving the Stix Guard Award from Ethan White.
It is a home game this Saturday with Labrador going up against Queensland University in Retro Round. Dust off your vintage gear and head on down to support the teams with BHL 2 playing at 2.30pm and BHL 1 at 4pm.
