Saturday June 1 was the day BHL 2 momentously defeated benchmark team, Eastern Suburbs Hockey Club. Brad Hughes put the Stix one up with a PCA conversion in the first half and doubled our lead with another drag flick in the second half. The highlight of the game was the Stix’s defensive unit, condensing space and keeping Easts scoreless, even as they held territorial advantage for much of the game. Dominos Crestwood Plaza BHL 2 Best on Ground went to Oscar Charlesworth and Guzman y Gomez BHL 2 Stick Guard awarded to Riley Wain.
The next BHL 1 and BHL 2 home games are on June 29 versus University of Queensland, and it is Retro Round. Dust off your retro LHC gear and stay tuned for further details!
